CPO Fleece Grey
In the late 1930s, the CPO shirt became one of the staples of the U.S. Navy sailor’s uniform.
Traditionally made from thick navy-blue wool — the color named after the Navy itself — the classic version of the CPO shirt carries a strong maritime heritage. The abbreviation "CPO" stands for Chief Petty Officer, a senior non-commissioned rank in the U.S. Navy, although this type of uniform was worn by all naval officers.
By the 1950s, these shirts gained popularity among civilians, as post-war military surplus began to appear in regular stores. Soon after, many manufacturers started producing their own versions in a variety of colors and patterns, often using checkered fabrics.
Our variation of the CPO shirt is made from Polartec® Fleece, making it both utilitarian and comfortable for everyday wear across a range of temperatures. The shirt features a loose, straight fit and a minimalist design with classic detailing.
